Working Principle of MF-SM300-2-99

The MF-SM300-2-99 PTC resettable fuse works on the principle of a temperature-sensitive resistor. During normal operation, the current passes through the fuse without restriction. The integrated temperature dependence of the device ensures that an overly high current passes through it, causing it to heat up and thus increase in temperature. Consequently, the resistance in the device increases greatly, limiting the current passing through it. Once the level of the current decreases, the device cools down, and the resistance in the device decreases, thus allowing the current to flow again.

The triple configurations of the MF-SM300-2-99 offer excellent current surge and voltage protection, with a wide temperature range of -40°C to +90°C. It can provide a hold current ranging from 30mA to 2A, while its power rating ranges between 75mW and 400mW. The operating voltage of the device ranges between 2 and 15V.
