.MI-27M-IY Application Field and Working Principle

The MI-27M-IY is designed to efficiently convert a DC input voltage (24V DC nominal) into a regulated DC output voltage (12/15/24 V DC selectable). The output voltage, either constant or adjustable, is accurate and stable, with an efficiency rating that is greater than 80%. Its wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C further expands its application range.
The device consists of a PWM control IC, an oscillator and a totem-pole transistor. The internal current-mode pulse-width modulation (PWM) control IC employs an error amplifier, reference voltage source, comparator and driver, along with other circuitry to provide complete control over the output voltage and current. By setting the feedback voltage divider ratio, the IC will precisely control the output voltage as desired.
At the heart of the MI-27M-IY are switching transistors that keep the power transformer resonantly driven outside the hard switching period and reduce switching losses. Low-powered consumption and high conversion efficiency are achieved through the novel design and integrated features of the product.
The MI-27M-IY features a wide input voltage range, low ripple & low noise characteristics, high efficiency (over 82%) and low power consumption. The device can efficiently convert a standard 24V input to a regulated output with PWM control. The 12V / 15V / 24V output voltage can be selected by changing the external feedback resistors. It also provides overload protection, output short-circuit protection, and thermal shut down, making it a perfect choice for commercial and industrial applications.
