The MI-J5X-MZ-S is capable of delivering an output voltage range of 6V to 13.7V DC and currents up to 60A with efficiencies up to 96%. The device employs Synchronous Rectification techniques and the latest in silicon technology to achieve high efficiency over the entire output voltage range.The MI-J5X-MZ-S utilizes a switch-mode architecture called a buck regulator. A buck regulator consists of four main components, a power switch, a rectifier, a transformer, and a control circuit. The Power Switch is an electronic switch with a low on-resistance that is used to control the current flow through the inductor. The switch is controlled by the control circuit, which turns the switch either on or off depending on the output voltage level. The Rectifier is a diode bridge that is used to rectify the alternating current produced by the transformer. The Transformer is used to transform the DC voltage level to either a higher or lower DC voltage level. The transformer is composed of a winding on the primary side and a winding on the secondary side that is connected to the output voltage. The Control Circuit is an electronic circuit that controls the operation of the power switch. The control circuit monitors the output voltage level and adjust the switching frequency of the power switch accordingly. The MI-J5X-MZ-S synchronous buck regulator also utilizes a control technique called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM).
