The MIC2298-15YML-TR is a synchronous DC/DC buck controller from the MIC2298 family. This device provides the convenience and reliability of an integrated LED driver for a variety of LED applications. Specifically, the MIC2298-15YML-TR\'s 15A synchronous buck controller can be used to drive white LED backlighting for LCD panels, LED torches/flashlights, automotive lighting, and other point-source lighting applications. Though this device is optimized for LED applications, it can also be used in other applications that require a synchronous buck controller with maximum current handling capabilities.

At the core of the MIC2298-15YML-TR is a high-performance bistable synchronous buck controller with high efficiency, low component count, and fast transient response. This controller can provide a fixed-voltage output with a wide range of input voltages and is able to operate with a wide range of capacitive, inductive, and resistive load conditions. It can also be configured to operate as a constant-current or constant-voltage power supply. The output voltage of the MIC2298-15YML-TR can be set from 0.75V to 6V with a 0.3V reference voltage trimmed for accuracy. The input voltage range is from 2.4V to 6V. Furthermore, the device has an overcurrent protection and thermal protection features. The integrated 750mΩ N-channel MOSFET allows the MIC2298-15YML-TR to achieve efficiencies above 95%.
