The MIC28303-2YMP-TR is a wide, highly efficient, synchronous DC-to-DC buck converter from Micrel, Inc.It is capable of being paralleled in order to support multi-phase topologies, as well as operating from a single supply, making it ideal for a variety of different applications.The MIC28303-2YMP-TR is a monolithic device that includes the high- and low-side MOSFET gate drivers on a single chip, making it much easier to achieve high efficiency at lower voltages.

The MIC28303-2YMP-TR DC-to-DC converter is designed for applications that require efficient, low-noise operation from the input voltage range of 4V to 28V and the output voltage range of 0.6V to 5.5V.It is capable of delivering up to 12A of continuous output current and up to 25A of peak output current.The device features a very low output voltage ripple and an adjustable switching frequency of 400kHz to 1.2MHz to optimize the efficiency of the converter at various loads.

The MIC28303-2YMP-TR is also designed to be a highly reliable device, with the integrated Under-Voltage Lockout, Over-Temperature Shutdown, and Over-Current Indication features allowing for quite a bit of safety.The device also supports two input modes (Parallel & Single) that allow for the design of a multi-phase topology, thus increasing the power delivery capability of the converter.
