MIC28512 is a fully integrated, dual-channel, non-synchronous buck regulator evaluation board which features wide range of operation and high efficiency. As a compact and efficient solution for DC/DC and AC/DC off-line switching power supplies, the MIC28512-2YFL-EV can be used in a wide variety of applications including LED lighting, computer peripherals, battery chargers, consumer electronics, and power management systems.

The MIC28512-2YFL-EV operates in continuous conduction mode and voltage mode control topology. It integrates two synchronous rectifier, two lowpass filters, two high-side MOSFET gate drivers, two integrated voltage regulator devices (VRDs) to provide a complete, top-level solution for buck regulator applications. The device includes an adaptive on-time control loop, and adjustable soft-start and frequency synchronization capabilities to allow operation over a wide range of output voltage, input voltage, and load currents. The MIC28512 also includes an optional current sense amplifier for current mode control or size external loop compensation.

The MIC28512-2YFL-EV integrates a dual-channel, non-synchronous buck regulator with two integrated VRDs, two high-side gate drivers, two synchronous rectifiers, two lowpass filters, two voltage regulator devices, and two linear regulators, providing a complete, top-level solution for various buck regulator applications. It also includes adaptive on-time control, adjustable soft-start, and adjustable frequency synchronization capabilities. In addition, the device is capable of supporting power levels up to 8A and up to 36V input voltage and 15A output current and tracking of both output and feedback voltages.

The MIC28512 operates with two separate outputs, each controllable by a dedicated internal or external PWM controller, depending on configuration. It includes a bright LED display to provide user feedback directly into the user interface. The MIC28512 includes numerous protection features, including voltage, current, temperature, frequency, and overload protectors. The protection circuitry can be individually enabled or disabled in each output. Additionally, the MIC28512 features an external thermal shutdown signal, allowing for external overtemperature protection.
