The MIC2877-5.25YFT-TR is a 4.5V to 55V, 2A PowerPath™ DC-DC switch mode regulator with dual power supply architecture that enables seamless battery-power switchover without the need for protection circuitry. The regulator also features a low 1μA quiescent current in sleep mode to reduce static power consumption. The MIC2877-5.25YFT-TR is available in a low profile 5-pin SOT-23 package with an operating ambient temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

The MIC2877-5.25YFT-TR device is an integrated, voltage regulator circuit, specifically designed for dual supply applications. The regulator has two independent input sources: a battery and a system power supply. Both -Vin and Vsys inputs are sensed and regulated by the MIC2877. The regulated output voltage, Vo, can be externally set by two resistors, and is monitored by a built-in voltage monitor system. It has a 1.5A MOSFET switch that can be configured for low quiescent current mode, high efficiency mode and low current input mode. The integrated Power Good signal indicates the output voltage status and two N-channel MOSFETs are included for external low voltage disconnect (LVD) circuit.

The MIC2877-5.25YFT-TR includes numerous protection features, such as an adjustable overload current limiter, cycle-by-cycle current limit, over voltage protection (OVP), over temperature protection (OTP), reverse battery protection, and low battery circuit. Finally, the switch mode regulator can be enhanced with opto-coupler feedback control, enabling higher efficiency and improved line and load regulation. This makes the MIC2877-5.25YFT-TR an ideal solution for a wide range of applications, such as automotive, industrial, medical, computer, telecommunications, and consumer tech equipment.
