The MIC33050-GYHL-EV DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS portfolio is designed to meet the application and performance needs of today’s complex power system designs. The portfolio offers three different families of products: the MIC33050-GYHL-EV for AC/DC (off-line) applications, the MIC33050-FYX-EV for DC/DC (non-isolated) applications, and the MIC33050-DYW-EV for DC/DC (isolated) applications.

The MIC33050-GYHL-EV family offers two different voltage ranges: one for unregulated input voltage and one for regulated input voltages. The unregulated input voltage range can be operated from 28V to 65V and offers output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V and 24V. The regulated input voltage range offers output voltages of 5V, 12V and 24V and can be operated from 5V to 28V.

The MIC33050-GYHL-EV series of DC/DC & AC/DC (off-line) SMPS can be used in a variety of applications such as LED lighting, industrial communications, motor and automotive control, power distribution, power management systems and various general-purpose applications. The robust construction of the MIC33050-GYHL-EV series enables them to be used in harsh operating environments and can be used in ambient temperatures of up to 105°C with no derating. The high efficiency of the MIC33050-GYHL-EV series ranges from 87.5% to 90%, making them ideal for energy efficient applications.

The MIC33050-GYHL-EV series of DC/DC & AC/DC (off-line) SMPS feature an integrated high-voltage MOSFET, current sense feedback circuit, under-voltage lockout (UVLO) control and thermal protection. The integrated MOSFET eliminates the need for an external MOSFET driver and is capable of supplying a continuous load current up to 4A. The current sense feedback circuit can be used to accurately sense the inductor current and to adjust the output current accordingly. The UVLO control prevents the output voltage from dropping below the set output voltage when the input voltage is too low. The devices also feature an over-voltage/over-current protection (OVP/OCP) which prevent any over-current or over-voltage conditions from damaging the output power stage of the device. The thermal protection feature ensures that the device does not over-heat and will shut down if the device reaches the pre-set limit.
