It combines a power factor corrector, an AC converter and a DC-DC controller in a single package. It is designed to the lowest possible system cost and is ideal for powering non-critical equipment such as set-top box, routers, Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and many more.

Working Principle

The MIC38C44-1YM-TR works on the principle of current mode control. It is a closed loop system and it senses the current flow in the output stage of the AC-DC converter. The sensed feedback ensures that the output stage is directly proportional to the input and this ensures that the AC-DC converter is always in sync with the incoming voltage. It has a wide voltage range from 6V to 20V and is rated to operate at full load up to 10A.
