Film capacitors, also known as film dielectric capacitors, made up of the film composite material, predominantly are Mylar and polypropylene. The capacitors, so constructed, involving the “layering”, inks, electrical circuitry and different topologies, come out in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Thanks to the process and technology of film capacitors, these capacitors have a high volumetric efficiency, particularly when compared to their aluminum electrolytics counterparts. The sweet spot of film capacitors is their ability to operate nicely in higher temperatures and reducing the amount of ESR in the circuit.

Application Field and Working Principle

The MKP1848C66512JY5 capacitor is mainly used in audio equipment, such as loudspeakers, PA systems, Hi-Fi sets, etc. It also finds application in power systems/circuits, especially in circuits with high transient voltage or current.
