This sensor offers a simple and stress-free angle measuring solution which can be used in a variety of applications.The MLX90372GVS-ACE-300-RE provides a linear output voltage which is proportional to the absolute angle measured. It can measure angles from 0 to 300 degrees with a 360 degree total range. The output voltage range of the device is selected by choosing the resistor values of the conditioning circuitry, R1 and R2. The maximum resolution of this device is 0.2 degrees.The MLX90372GVS-ACE-300-RE utilizes a non-contact sensing technology to measure absolute angles. It is based on a variable reluctance (VR) position sensor which consists of two ferromagnetic cores, a plunger, and a signal conditioner. The two ferromagnetic cores act as a frame which supports the plunger in the housing. As the plunger moves, the magnetic field from the two cores is modulated by the plunger, and this modulated signal is used to determine the angular position of the plunger.The signal conditioner receives the modulated signal from the cores and amplifies it before conditioning it into a linear output voltage. This linear output voltage is proportional to the absolute angle measured, so the user can then use a suitable voltage-to-angle conversion formula to determine the absolute angle.The MLX90372GVS-ACE-300-RE is an ideal solution for any application requiring real-time angle information, or where triggering events based on angle measurement comes into play.
