The MM74HC241N is an 8-channel buffer with 3-state outputs that is a part of the 74HC logic family. It is commonly used for buffering, bus driving, or line driving signals. As a buffer, its primary function is to take an input signal from one register and transfer it to an output register without changing its levels or pulses. As a bus driver, it can provide the necessary current to drive a bus line with multiple nodes. It can also be used as a line driver, increasing the drive currents to longer runs of lines by incorporating line terminators.
