MP2151GTF-P is a DC to DC Switching Regulator that is specifically designed for the portable device market. It is one of the most advanced power management integrated circuits (PMICs) available on the market. It is a compact, low power, and cost-effective switching regulator with integrated power MOS transistors and frequency control to simplify circuit design.

The MP2151GTF-P voltage regulator is designed to be used as a means of powering low voltage components in portable device applications. It can provide output current up to 2A from an input voltage of 2.5 V to 6 V in an ultra-small 4 mm x 4 mm TSOP. It employs an integrated 200 kHz converter and several features such as programmable soft-start, low shutdown current and programmable frequency synchronization.

The cycle-by-cycle current limit function reduces the peak current to protect the device from the risk of output short circuit.

The MP2151GTF-P also supports a programmable Soft-start pin (SS) to reduce output voltage slew rate which smoothens start-up ramp. It further offers accurate regulation of the output voltage at light load or no load conditions. In addition, the MP2151GTF-P supports output tracking for multi-rail designs. It also incorporates a low shutdown current of 0.3 μA that eliminates power-off noise. The MP2151GTF-P has built-in exponential compensation and temperature monitor to control the loop response of the device during transient. It also provides a frequency synchronization feature to reduce output ripple at no load or light load conditions.

The MP2151GTF-P is also equipped with several features to protect the device from abnormal operating conditions such as a minimum on-time setting to prevent sub-harmonic oscillation and thermal shutdown to protect the device in case of over temperature. It also incorporates an enable pin (EN) for ON/OFF control of the device.
