The components of the COB module are mounted on a thin film with a thin electrical interconnection (TPE-A) and then mounted onto an aluminum heat-sink PCB or onto a flexible circuit board. The heat-sink PCB directs heat away from the LED to ensure that the LED does not overheat. The electrical connection is made between the LED module and the lighting fixture connection via thin bond wires, which are connected to the LED module’s contact pads. The LED module is then connected to a power supply and can be switched on and off with the use of a power controller. It is also possible to adjust the brightness of the LED module with the help of a dimming controller.
