MP2492DN-LF works as a step-down converter to reduce the battery voltage to a lower level. When the gate voltage receives the on-chip pulse signal, the N-MOSFET conducts the current and passes it through an inductor. The inductor carries the current and stores the energy.

When the gate voltage receives the off-pulse signal, the N-MOSFET stops conducting the current, and the inductor releases the stored energy. This causes the P-MOSFET to turn on and passes the current through the load, providing a stable output voltage. This process is continuously repeated in order to maintain a stable output voltage.
