Working Principle

The MS-DP-1 is basically a set of digital transmission and control signals in one device. It utilizes four layers of digital transmission and control signals, which allows the transmission of digital audio/video signals between devices with digital interfaces, and in turn, supports remote control via the Ethernet protocol. The highest transfer rate supported is 8 Mbps.

The MS-DP-1\'s four layers of digital signals are described as follows:

• Data. This is a layer of two-way data transmission protocol which is responsible for transferring digital audio/video data between digital devices.
• Control. This is a layer of two-way control signaling protocol, which is responsible for providing various control functions such as synchronization, editing, etc., between digital devices.
• Ethernet. This is a layer of two-way Ethernet signaling protocol which is responsible for remote control of digital devices.
• Power. This is a layer of two-way power transmission protocol which is responsible for providing power to digital devices.

The MS-DP-1 also supports the AES/EBU standard and is capable of directly connecting to AES/EBU-compatible digital products. By doing so, it extends the functionality of those digital products, allowing them to communicate with each other directly.
