The popular MX574BBC201M416 Oscillator is a high performance surface mount device used primarily in telecommunications and networking applications. Its performance characteristics make it suitable for applications, where the stability and reliability of oscillator frequency are of paramount importance.

It is a miniature 4.0 x 4.0 mm Ceramic VCXO (Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator), which is “pulling” the resonant frequency over a dynamic frequency range of -16 ppm to +12 ppm. This oscillator is designed for the client to use as a local oscillator source in a cost-effective, high-density package.

The MX574BBC201M416 offers exceptional reliability due to its superior control range and power conductivity. It has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. This Power-on Inhibit Pin helps to keep the power supply current from overloading, thus protecting the oscillator from being damaged when powering up.

When the oscillator is turned on the steady state operating frequency is 0 kHz. By applying a DC voltage to the Oscillator Control Voltage pin (VCXO), the oscillator output frequency will steadily change in the direction and speed as the control voltage is increased or decreased. The higher the control voltage, the higher the output frequency. The control voltage can be DC, AC, Waveform or a combination of these.

The frequency of the output signal is determined by the frequency of the resonator and the control voltage. The oscillator\'s frequency accuracy and stability are determined by the crystal\'s frequency specification. The frequency can be adjusted using theoscillator\'s Frequency Control Voltage Pin (VCXO). This oscillator is ideal for use in digital phase-locked loops (PLLs), frequency synthesizers and other frequency control applications. The oscillator performs well in temperature cycling tests, maintaining frequency accuracy and stability over the specified operating temperature range.

The MX574BBC201M416 Oscillator is fabricated using a CMOS/SOS process, making it highly sensitive to voltage control. It offers a wide range of control voltage, a wide range of frequency stability, fast startup and low power consumption compared to conventional TCXO devices.

The MX574BBC201M416 has a maximum output power of 1.3 mW and is available in a variety of output configurations including LVPECL, LVDS, and Sine Wave. The germanium resonance element ensures a high level of stability and precision. The package is designed with an encapsulated bond wire to provide maximum consistency from one device to the next.

In addition, the MX574BBC201M416 offers light load and bias current feature, which makes it suitable for systems that require low output power and tight current variation. It is also compliant to RoHS directive and has a high level of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
