NAH-06-331 power line filter modules are designed to reduce power line disturbances, or electrical noise, to protect sensitive electronic devices. The modules employ two types of capacitors – blocking capacitors and decoupling capacitors – to reject noise interference. The blocking capacitors, typically rated at 250 Vac, have a low impedance path for frequencies outside of their pass band. This helps to block harmonics and noise before they enter the circuit. The decoupling capacitors, typically rated from 10 to 100 Vac, provide a frequency selective section to attenuate or suppress any noise frequencies that make it through the blocking section.
The NAH-06-331 has a wide range of frequencies over which it can effectively attenuate power line disturbances. The module has a pass band frequency range of 10 Hz to 20 KHz, with attenuation of 1 dB at 10 Hz and greater than 40 dB at 50 Hz. These modules can reduce common mode or differential mode noise, and can also be used to protect signal paths from high or interference voltages.
The NAH-06-331 filter modules are designed to provide surface mounting and direct, permanent connection to electrical line wiring circuits. The modules are available in two configurations, one for use on 120V single phase systems and the other for 240V or 208V three phase systems. The 120V single phase filter modules have two isolated winding sections, each with blocking and decoupling capacitors and a metal oxide varistor. The three phase modules also have two isolated winding sections with blocking and decoupling capacitors, but in addition have three varistors.
To install a NAH-06-331 filter module, the electrical circuit must first be disconnected from the electrical line. The module is then mounted on a smooth level surface and the electrical circuit reconnected to the line. The correct polarity of the electrical circuit must be observed when connecting the filters. A safety interlock must also be provided, if necessary, to make sure the electrical line does not become energized before mounting the filter module.
The NAH-06-331 is designed to provide a rugged and reliable power line filter solution for a wide range of applications. The filter can be used to mitigate the effect of power line distortions, spikes, and transients on sensitive electronics, to protect equipment from over-voltage, and to reduce electromagnetic interference. The modules are designed to provide robust performance, and can be used in a variety of industrial, commercial, and residential applications.
