The NCP4354AADAPGEVB is an evaluation board designed for the purpose of enabling engineers to quickly evaluate the performance of the NCP4354A high voltage monolithic controller in flyback converters operating off-line. An industry-standard secondary-side synchronous rectification arrangement, often used in switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), is implemented with the integrated low-side and high-side MOSFETs. This arrangement helps to reduce power loss and improve efficiency.

The evaluation board can be used for a variety of applications such as computer monitors, LCD TV, and audio visual systems. It is designed to operate as a flyback converter operating from a rectified sinusoidal input voltage of up to 275VAC with output power up to 75W. It requires an input voltage range of 85-264VAC. In addition, it provides comprehensive digital control features like precise active voltage position control, over current protection and soft start.

The main components of the NCP4354AADAPGEVB evaluation board is NCP4354A high voltage monolithic controller, an auxiliary winding, an input power diode, and an input power capacitor. The board also provides a pre-set reference voltage for the short-circuit protections.

The high-side power FETs and low-side power FETs are enclosed in the same package for protection. It is constructed with a 30-turns primary winding and the secondary winding has 10 turns, allowing for an output voltage of up to 75W. The board is safety certified with UL and RoHS compliance.
