NHD-4.3CTP-SHIELD-V application field and working principle
NHD-4.3CTP-SHIELD-V is an evaluation board used for prototyping and designing with Wifi and Bluetooth radio applications with reasonable cost and performance. The board features a module, called ESP32-S2-WiFI-BLE, connected to two Silabs CP2102 CP2102 interface bridge USB to UART. This evaluation board is designed to extend the options available to engineers who are developing with microcontroller, allowing them to explore the features of ESP32-S2 module in their products.
The evaluation board is targeted at engineers creating products using the ESP32-S2 module for their WiFi and/or Bluetooth wireless communication needs. This evaluation board is designed to mimic the practices and circuitries used in real applications. This also enables engineers to quickly prototype and test their wireless integration scenarios.
ESP32-S2 module is an ultra-low power Wi-Fi Bluetooth combo system-on-chip using Tensilica Xtensa LX6 processor as the main processor. It integrates Wi-Fi MAC/BB/RF/PA/LNA and a range of peripherals. The Wi-Fi supports all standard 802.11 protocols, with the support of multiple data rate and power mode management, as well as a low-power sleep mode. The platform offers an efficient, cost-effective and reliableroutes for developers to communicate with their applications. It also provides a wide range of communication ports, including UART, SPI, I2C, I2S and USB.
The working principle of this evaluation board can be summarized in a few steps. Firstly, a USB connection is established between the evaluation board and PC using the dedicated CP2102 USB bridge. After this the PC can then communicate with the ESP32-S2 module via the UART interface. After this the Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth radios on the board will be enabled and the engineer can start programming and testing their software.
On the NHD-4.3CTP-SHIELD-V, engineers can leverage the module’s processor and peripherals to create microcontroller-based applications with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth support.
