NJU7662D is a kind of DC-DC switching regulator which belongs to voltage regulators, and further belongs to PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit). The NJU7662D switching regulator is composed of several stages such as a high-side power MOSFET, a low-side power MOSFET, a current sensing resistor, a voltage sensing resistor and a linear regulator. The NJU7662D converts a higher voltage to a lower voltage by switching between two power MOSFETs, to keep the output voltage constant. The buck converter is known as the more popular reference design for DC-DC converters. The high-side MOSFET opens the circuit and then the inductor current increases with a certain rate until the peak current is reached. The low-side MOSFET then closes and the current drops down again. This process is named as a buck cycle. The inductor current flows through the current sensing resistor and the voltage sensing resistor allows the feedback to the controller. The output voltage of NJU7662D is set with a voltage detector, voltage reference circuit and linear regulator.
NJU7662D usually contains the following features: internal ramp wave driver, high PWM frequency, soft start, short cycle protection on, thermal shutdown and ultra-low power mode.
