Temperature Sensors - NTC Thermistors
NTCLE100E3109JB0 thermistors are a type of temperature sensors, composed of a ceramic material containing a mix of metal oxides. The temperature sensing element is usually a tin-plated nickel-clad nickel wire, and encapsulated in a ceramic case with epoxy resin. Through the non-linear relationship between the resistance and temperature, NTCLE100E3109JB0 thermistors are able to measure temperature changes with great precision.NTCLE100E3109JB0 thermistors have a wide application field, mostly used in temperature detection and control. These thermistors are available in a wide range of sizes from 1.25mm to 8mm and in many different curves ranging from -55 to +125 degrees Celsius, or even higher. This type of thermistors is particularly suitable for lower temperature ranges, with higher temperature application only limited to high power designs.The working principle of NTCLE100E3109JB0 thermistors is based on the unique characteristics of the materials used in the construction of these sensors. As the temperature rises, the resistance of the thermistor decreases. Conversely, when the temperature falls, the resistance of the thermistor increases. Therefore, by measuring the resistance of the thermistor, the temperature of the surrounding environment can be accurately determined.To give the NTCLE100E3109JB0 thermistors the desired temperature sensitivity, metal oxides, such as manganese oxide, titanium oxide, cobalt oxide, and nickel oxide, are doped into the ceramic material. At temperatures above 30 Celsius, the metal oxides form a conductive channel through the ceramic material, resulting in a decrease in resistance. As the temperature drops below 30 Celsius, the metal oxides tend to form an insulating barrier, and the resistance increases.In order to accurately measure the temperature of the environment, the thermistors are often combined with additional components such as resistors, amplifiers, and ADCs (or Analog to Digital Converters). When the thermistor is exposed to the environment, its resistance is measured and converted to a voltage, which is then amplified, and the change in voltage is eventually represented as a digital value. This digital value can then be monitored and used to control a variety of functions, such as cooling and heating systems.Finally, NTCLE100E3109JB0 thermistors are chosen for their extremely low cost and high accuracy.
