The STmicroelectronics NUCLEO-IOD01A1 evaluation and demonstration board and kit for advanced communication includes components such as an integrated debugger, three expansion modules, and a real-time operating system (RTOS). The NUCLEO-IOD01A1 is used to evaluate and develop applications for wired and wireless communication with the data converter, power manager, and associated software tools. It can also be used to create or modify protocols or algorithms, such as Bluetooth (BLE), WiFi, and Ethernet. The device can be operated in stand-alone or multi-node configurations.
The STmicroelectronics NUCLEO-IOD01A1 is based on an STM32F107VCT6 ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller, which features a 64-pin LQFP package, a 64 MHz processor core with 512 Kbytes embedded flash and 64 Kbytes RAM, five software-programmable UARTs, three 16-bit timer channels, three 12-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADC), an internal voltage regulator, and three full-duplex USARTs. Two I2C buses, two I2S interfaces, CAN1 modules, and CAN2 modules can also be used to increase flexibility and performance. 16 GPIO pins allow flexible interfacing to the outside world and 10-bit UNI-ST Digital-to-Analog Converter (A/D and D/A Converter) is also available.
The NUCLEO-IOD01A1 includes a debugger and a STM32F107VCT6-based evaluation board. The kit has an ATEVK-IOD development board, an I2C Bus extender, and an ICSP interface for communicating with the host processor. The development board has 7 segment displays to display the user\'s program variables and can also display power level statistics on an onboard power monitor. The I2C Bus extender board is used to simplify connecting peripheral devices to the development board and the ICSP interface allows communication between the development board and the host processor.
The kit also includes two expansion modules.The first module includes eight DS18B20 temperature sensors, a CAN2 transceiver, and a CAN1 transceiver. The second module features an Ethernet stack, a TCP/IP processor, an MQTT protocol processor, and a USB/RS232 interface. The NUCLEO-IOD01A1 kit also includes a real-time operating system (RTOS) that can be used to control the peripherals used in the application.
