It is also designed to protect against overcurrent hazards, as it can remain in an ‘on’ state for up to one second when an overcurrent condition is present.In a typical application, the P0901Q22CLRP is connected between the power source and the protected component. When a voltage spike occurs, the MOSFET will quickly switch on and the device will then start conducting current. This current is then diverted away from the protected component via the MOV and series diode. Once the voltage spike has subsided, the MOSFET will switch off again and the device will return to its ‘off’ state.
