The controller supports various operating modes such as DCHPD (Data and Control High-Power Device), DCHPD+ (Data and Control High-Power Device Plus), or Alternate Mode (Alt Mode). While the DCHPD and DCHPD+ modes are intended to comply with the IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards, Alt Mode is used to support more advanced applications. The controller has a two-channel (channel 0 and 1) output comprising a main channel and an auxiliary channel.

The PD70100ILD-TR incorporates a range of safety and protection functions such as overload protection, over-voltage protection, under-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and over-current protection. This ensures reliable and safe operation under a variety of conditions. Additionally, the PD70100ILD-TR supports Power Allocation Control (PAC) which allows for fine control over each output port, providing precise power allocation. The controller also features an LED indicator that displays the load on each output ports.

There are three stages to the PD70100ILD-TR working principle. The first stage is voltage conversion and regulation, in which the incoming power is converted and regulated to match the device specification and application requirements. Secondly, the PoE controller streams management voltage, allowing data and power to be sent simultaneously over the same wire. Finally, the controller provides the power signal and management signal combo to the destination device.
