Photodiode or PDB-C150SMF is a kind of electrical signal output photodetector, which is often used for optoelectronic or optical instrument detection. The photodiode was proposed in the early 1950s and then developed in order to replace the traditional photomultiplier. The working principle of PDB-C150SMF is based on the photoconduction mechanism. When the photons with energy higher than the bandgap enter the photoresistor, the electron-hole pairs are generated in the semiconductor material. Then these electron-hole pairs are accelerated forward under the electric field and finally collected at the anode electrode. The current signal at the anode is proportional to the light intensity, which is then converted to the output voltage or current signal. During this process, the metal plug in the sensitive cavity can absorb the electric charges, ensuring that the measured signal is clean and reliable.
