Inductors can vary in size and shape and can be standard, molded, or custom-made. PE-53119NL is a molded inductor which is well suited to applications including filters, chokes, as well as dc-dc and RF circuits. It is a low-cost, high-performing product which is rated to 1A and 130mH with a temperature coefficient of ±100ppm/°C.

Application Fields

PE-53119NL molded inductors are great for applications where small space is available. It is ideal in switching power supplies and used to filter and supply power to the device. Working Principle

The PE-53119NL functions by storing energy as a magnetic field when current is passed through its coils. When a conductor is formed with current, it generates a magnetic field in the space outside of the conductor which is referred to as a magnetic flux. This creates a sort of barrier to current passing through the core of the inductor. Since energy must be lost when the magnetic field collapses, these inductors are used to filter, shape, or delay the current. Frequency Considerations

The PE-53119NL is rated for high frequency applications and its electrical characteristics are tested up to at least 100kHz. When used in an application that requires higher frequencies, be sure to confirm that the peak current will not exceed the maximum current rating as this can cause overheating and reduce the overall life of the product.
