Second Step: As the level of CO2 concentration changes, the amount of light that is absorbed and the amount of light detected by the pyroelectric detector also changes. This change of light intensity is then converted into an electrical signal.

Third Step: This signal is then compared with a linear conversion curve and the output voltage is calibrated to compensate for changes in atmospheric temperature and humidity.

In addition, PH-2-70M also has an automated calibration and self-attuning mechanism to ensure accuracy of the results. The intelligent features of the sensors allow it to constantly recalibrate itself in order to minimize error in the measurements. The calibration process includes measuring the reference CO2 concentration (in ppm) and then adjusting the gain factor accordingly. The self-attuning algorithm adjusts the measurement range based on the measured samples and ensures that the sensor will always operate at the correct level.
