It is a bi-directional device capable of sensing objects that pass through the interrupting light beam.The PM-R54 utilizes a GaAs infrared light blocking element which is shielded from ambient light in order to maintain high reliability and stability. It has a compact flat package which helps to reduce the material costs associated with integration into a product. The PM-R54 has a wide operation temperature range from -40C to 85C and is capable of operating in the presence of mechanical shock, vibration and other environmental considerations.
