Panel indicators, pilot lights are widely used in machine running status monitoring systems. As a kind of panel indicator, PM5-PGD is a device widely used in industrial electrical systems. It consists of a main unit and an indicator unit.
The PM5-PGD main unit is composed of a magnetic arm serving as a current transformer. The arm is built on a plastic base and next to an amplifier. The indicator unit utilizes different coloured LEDs as a signal output. PM5-PGD offers 3-phase or single-phase designs with various wiring terminal systems.
PM5-PGD has a wide range of applications, including monitoring and evaluating the running conditions of a machine, controlling the running conditions of different electrical devices in a system, and giving instant feedback about whether the machine is running correctly or not.
The working principle of PM5-PGD is simple but effective. It uses a current transformer to measure the current of the monitored device itself, and then, depending on how the model is configured, triggers the indicator unit. For example, if the green LED light is on, it means the system is normal, or yellow LED to indicate a warning or error status, while red LED could indicate an emergency stop situation. Once an abnormal status occurs, the indicator unit will actively prompt the operator to check and possibly give a signal for automatic stoppage of the system.
These LED indicator lights are not only used for monitoring but they are also used for more applications, such as indicating a failed shut down, communicating system running stability, temperature control, back up status, security intruder indications, and identification tracking.
