PM620-02-RC Application Field and Working Principle

The PM620-02-RC is a signal transformer designed to convert a single-ended signal to a differential signal. This signal transformer can be utilized for a variety of applications such as: telecommunication base stations, cellular infrastructure, military communication, radio antenna systems, CATV/MATV networks, electronic medical devices and detectors.

The PM620-02-RC consists of two independent transformer elements that form a signal bridge. Each of these transformer elements is housed in a surface-mount package, and features an integrated shield that provides the necessary isolation and signal protection between the equipment input and output. The PM620-02-RC also offers a 3 dB hybrid coupler to further enhance the signal Isolation between inputs and outputs.

The PM620-02-RC transformer operates with a Coilcraft output core material that ensures maximum signal conversion from primary to secondary side. A 240µH coil inductor with a 0.1 ohms DC resistance is integrated into the transformer to ensure complete signal conversion, while also providing a low DC resistance. The integrated shield also helps maintain the signal integrity between input and output.

The PM620-02-RC utilizes a design philosophy that ensures superior signal conversion in order to minimize the distortion caused by a single-ended signal due to transformer saturation.
