Pushbutton switches represent an overwhelming majority of all switches used in industrial, commercial and residential applications. They can be found in appliances, airplanes, cars, elevators, trains and thousands of other products. One of the most common pushbutton switches is the PS2-121B. This single pole two throw (SP2T) switch is widely used in a variety of applications, such as controlling lights, motors, relays, and other devices.

Design and Construction

The PS2-121B is an enclosed switch housed in a 1.5” x 0.5” ABS plastic enclosure, which is available in white, light gray and black. The switch contains an actuator, a switch body and two internally mounted contacts. The actuator is a black plunger with a silver button that provides a tactile feedback when pressed. The switch body is made of brass and provides a positive electrical connection to the actuator. The two contacts are mounted in the top and bottom of the switch body and the contacts are made of copper alloy and rated up to 10A at 250V AC.

Working Principle
