The PT5049C is a high efficiency, low noise, adjustable, step up DC/DC converter with 3MHz switching frequency. It is designed to minimize external components and optimize power density with its synchronous rectifier design. The PT5049C is available in TSOP-6 and WQFN-10 packages. It is ideal for applications such as medical, portable, point-of-load, and distributed power system.

The PT5049C has a step up voltage range from 0.9V to 5.5V output and input voltage range from 0.9 to 5.5V . With maximum 2A-output current, the PT5049C is capable of providing maximum 8.5V output voltage (5V input) for most applications. In addition, the PT5049C has the ability to be variably adjusted from 0.9V to 10V. This enables the circuit to be used in an application which requires variable output voltage.

The PT5049C uses current-mode control for high output accuracy and excellent loop dynamic. The PT5049C features internal over-temperature protection (OTP) and current limitation (OCP). When the output voltage reaches the OTP threshold the PT5049C will shut down the internal power switches and reduce the output current to a safe level.

The PT5049C includes two wide-input voltage feedback resistors that can be connected to different output voltage ranges. This enables output voltage settings without the need for additional resistors. With the high efficiency and 3MHz switching frequency, the PT5049C is capable of providing low output voltages with no additional components. The PT5049C has an integrated synchronous rectifier which boosts the efficiency up to 92%, and eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode.

The PT5049C offers low noise operation (50kHZ - 200kHz) and a miniature sizewith high power density for long battery life in portable and distributed power applications. It is also adjustable so user can perfectly tailor the output voltage for their application. Additionally, its on-board voltage feedback resistors enable the PT5049C to be easily set for a variety of output voltage levels.
