PT8A2646PE is a series of interface ICs for contactless and touchless capacitive sensors. The series is developed to protect and sensibilize capacitive sensors from external disturbances, to reduce the self-capacitance or mutual capacitance of capacitive sensors and finally to offer a simple interface to the outside of sensor elements. The product covers a wide range of applications for touchless and contactless sensoring, including but not limited to, wall switches, elevator control, automated doors and lamps etc.
The PT8A2646PE is built around a 12-bit, high-speed CMOS analog-to-digital converter, that features 8-bit resolution. The 12-bit internal resolution and the extended analog voltage range allow the design of high-resolution sensors and touchless user interfaces. An internal built-in amplifier with programmable gain allows a wide range of sensing distances between 1 to 100mm. The product can sense up to 8 channels independently and is fully programmable so it can be adapted to different kinds of applications and user interfaces.
