Film Capacitors

PVC6233 film capacitors are one of the leading and most popular types of capacitors. Working Principle

PVC6233 film capacitors are constructed of two metalized pieces of thin plastic film which are electrically isolated by a thin dielectric film (polyvinyl chloride). This allows electricity to flow between them without having to pass through insulation materials. As electrical current flows through both plates, a charge accumulates on each metalized surface as a result of electrostatic field that’s created, causing the two plates to attract one another.

The capacitance of the capacitor is based on the area of the plates and the permittivity (dielectric constant) of the plastic film. The permittivity of the film helps determine how much charge will accumulate on the metalized surfaces of the capacitor. As such, PVC6233 film capacitors offer consistent and reliable operation across a wide range of applications.
