LED Indication, also known as Discrete Status Indication, is a necessity for many industries and applications, ranging from industrial and machine automation, to aerospace applications. In order to switch the LED to the correct level, the input must ascend to the LED’s forward voltage. If the voltage is lower, the LED may not turn on or have inadequate brightness; however, if the voltage exceeds 2V, the LED can be at risk for permanent damage. The pulse-width must then be adjusted to the desired voltage at various points along the payload, eventually controlling the entire LED output.

For applications where the LED Indicator needs to be dimmed rather than on/off, a PWM signal may be used. This signal instructs the LED to turn on and off in milliseconds, allowing the level of brightness to be controlled. The QBLP653-Y utilizes a 10-bit PWM which allows for 1024 possible input levels, increasing the accuracy of dimming and brightness control. Similarly, the pulse must ascend to the LED’s forward voltage in order to achieve the desired brightness throughout the entire payload.

The QBLP653-Y LED Indicator is designed for use in a variety of applications, ranging from industrial and machine automation, to aerospace and home use. Its two-color design and 10-bit PWM feedback allow for reliable light output and dimming control in both indoor and outdoor settings.
