QSH-030-01-F-D-A-K rectangular connectors are an array edge type designed for board to board mezzanine applications. Such connectors are often used to connect one printed circuit board (PCB) to another, or link a PCB to an external component or a variety of other mezzanine connections. Designed primarily for use in telecom applications, they have multiple contacts and offer a compact, reliable board stack connection.

Application Field

QSH connector series are widely used in telecommunication equipment such as base transceiver station, base station, wireless access point (WAP), switches, routers, optical fibre communication systems, module boards, antennas, and other equipment. They are the industry’s first RoHS compliant mezzanine connectors and meet UL198 and liek-TX requirements for both electrical and environmental performance.

Specifically, QSH-030-01-F-D-A-K connectors are suitable for crimp cable sizes up to 20AWG (0.5mm2), and minimum insulation jacket size of 0.8mm. Such connectors are also suitable for cable harnessing and backplane stacking and ensure that two separate boards are connected without any crosstalk.

Working Principle

QSH-030-01-F-D-A-K connectors are male and female interconnects with a dual row contact system. The female connector has two rows of pins that pierce through the circuit board and make contact with the opposing male connector on the next board. The male connector has two rows of receptacles that receive the contact pins of the female connector. Contact inserts support a low insertion and extraction force, which is needed when replacing damaged boards. Each contact pin on the female connector has an insulated brass body with a contact area.

The contact area is surrounded by insulation material to prevent short circuits. The contact pins on the male connector are also insulated.
