QSH-060-01-H-D-DP-A-RT1 is a type of rectangular connector arrays, edge type, mezzanine (board to board) connector. This kind of connector is made by two kinds of plastic housings, upper and lower, which are held together by a latch lever. This connector can connect two and three dimensional printed circuit boards, allowing signals and/or power to pass between the two boards. It can replace the traditional right angle pin headers and sockets.

Working Principle

QSH-060-01-H-D-DP-A-RT1 operates with two flexible, interlocking pogo pins on the bottom of the upper housing that mate with two sets of pre-loaded spring loaded pins on the lower housing. This creates a low-engagement force electrical connection between the two boards. The connection is so low that it can be achieved manually, eliminating the need for excessive force on the latch lever.

The latch lever, when pushed downwards, engages the latches on the housing and compresses the two housings together. This compresses the pogo pins on the top housing onto the spring-loaded pins on the bottom housing until they completely insert and lock into place. When the latch lever is released, it maintains tension on both housings. This ensures the connection is consistently maintained even when exposed to normal environmental vibrations and motions.

The connector also features a built-in ESD protection circuit which utilizes a Zener diode construction. The Zener diode acts as a shunt path for any static charge, and dissipates it directly short-circuit to signal and power grounds, helping to protect against potential ESD damage.
