QSS-050-01-H-D-EM2 rectangular connectors belong to the Array, Edge Type, Mezzanine (Board to Board) series. The main use of this connector type is to provide a space efficient interconnection for a variety of signals in board to board or cable to board applications. This type of connector is normally used for signal applications from through hole to surface mount board-to-board connection with mid-plane, stacked configurations, SATA, PC/104, COM Express and other applications.

Manufactured in accordance with the American Petroleum Institute standard (API) specification, this connector has a rugged and reliable construction that ensures supreme performance. The housing is typically made from a thermoplastic material with zinc plated steel keys that form the mounted alignment. The contacts are supplied in vertical, straight, two-row configurations. The contacts are made of phosphor bronze with gold plating or tin plating.

QSS-050-01-H-D-EM2 connectors is designed for multiple way mated connection configurations with a male-opposite-male-opposite-male mating coupling. The contacts are held securely in position by a selective latching retention system and are arranged along a vertical pin path for PCB-to-cable, board-to-board, or cable-to-cable connections. The connectors are also compatible with Surface Mount Technology.

The contact force is between 2 and 4N and the total retention force is between 2 to 4N. Its mechanical features include a vertical power stack height of 5mm and a vertical insulation height of 2mm.
