It is designed to deliver 9 to 13.8V output voltage with an input voltage range of 11.5V to 18V. The R2D12-2409/P is a flyback topology converter with synchronous rectification to maximize efficiency. It utilizes peak current mode control, which enables it to maintain tight voltage regulation with a wide range of load currents.

The R2D12-2409/P operates in discontinuous conduction mode with a high input voltage. Synchronous rectification (SR) is used to minimize power losses and improve efficiency at high input voltages. At low current, the switch current waveform is identical in both periods, resulting in a zero voltage transition (ZVT). This results in lower input ripple current and lower switching losses. The R2D12-2409/P has a peak current limit of 12A and can deliver 9A of continuous output current.
