R88D-GT04H Application Field and Working Principle

The R88D-GT04H is a driver board module for servo motors of the R88M series made by Oriental Motor. As a motor driver board, it allows for direct control of two-phase hybrid stepping motors with no test before use. Moreover, this module is suggested when multiple motors are used in combination, providing superior speed control and even rotation.

Working Principle

The R88D-GT04H receives commands from a PLC, PC or other equivalent controller. By controlling signals, it instructs the motor to rotate clockwise/counterclockwise at certain speed. The driver board converts the square-wave digital recognition signals of the controller into analog signals, which are adopted by the motor for rotation. The board also contains circuitry for overvoltage protection, overheat protection, overcurrent protection, etc., allowing for a high level of safety.
