Thermal - Thermoelectric, Peltier Modules
RC6-6-01LS is a thermal-thermoelectric Peltier module used for cooling and heating applications. Peltier modules work by cooling and cooling or heating an object depending on the direction of the applied voltage. When an electric current is applied, it results in a flow heat between two dissimilar electrical conductors which is known as the Peltier effect.
The RC6-6-01LS is a low profile, low-power device composed of two ceramic plates and up to 12 thermoelectric couples. The ceramic plates have a copper base for improved thermal conductivity. The module includes a temperature sensing built-in NTC thermistor for temperature measurement.
It is capable of cooling up to 10W of power with a temperature range of -45 to + 125°C. It has a high thermal transfer rate of over 200W/m^2 and low thermal resistance. This makes it ideal for applications such as cooling of electronics, chillers in medical systems, temperature control in home appliances and even for cooling or heating food items.
The working principle of the RC6-6-01LS is simple. When a voltage is applied to the module, the Peltier effect causes a temperature difference between the two sides of the module. For example, when a positive voltage is applied, the hot side of the module becomes colder while the cold side of the module becomes hotter. This allows for controlled cooling or heating depending on the application.
In addition to cooling or heating applications, the RC6-6-01LS can also be used as a power generator. In this setup, when a temperature difference is applied to either side of the module, a voltage can be produced due to the Seebeck effect. This voltage can then be used to produce usable energy in the form of electricity.
