This type of converter operates in two distinct modes:When the input voltage is higher than the output voltage, the circuit behaves like a Buck converter, which steps down the input voltage with high efficiency.When the input voltage is lower than the output voltage, the circuit behaves like a Boost converter, which steps up the input voltage and outputs the higher voltage.The advantage of the Buck-Boost topology is that it can provide a regulated output voltage regardless of the input voltage.
