Working Principle

The RI-STU-251B-01 works on the principle of submitting a radio frequency signal to an antenna. This antenna acts as a receiver which picks up the signal and then passes it to the reader module itself. The reader module then processes the signal, which is essentially the code or information contained in the RFID tag. After it is processed, different commands can then be issued, such as to read, write, or delete information from the RFID tag.

The reader module is compatible with various variety of RFID protocols such as ISO/IEC 14443A, 14443B, 15693, FC/MIFARE/FeliCa, EPC Class 1, Gen 2, FeliCa, Tagit protocols, and more. The module has a maximum detection range of up to 10 cm, and operates at frequencies of 13.56MHz and 2.4GHz. It also supports various barcode types, such as EPC Class 1, Gen2, and Tagit.
