Working Principle

When the overload or the fault clears, the fuse will again reconnect the circuit.

When current passes through the fuse, the current first passes through the contact strip with the lower melting point. If the current exceeds the current rating of the fuse, the lower melting strip melts and breaks the circuit. When the fuse is working in a normal condition, the current passes through the contact strip with the higher melting point. If it is still in full rating, the contact strip would remain unmelted and keep the circuit connected.

The fuse is designed with an aluminium shell to ensure a good thermal conductivity in order to reduce the surface temperature of the contact strips. The electric element is made of silver alloy which has high temperature and corrosion resistance.
