DC-DC Converters, such as RK-2405S/H6, are widely used in industrial, communications, automobile, aerospace and other fields. The application field and working principle of RK-2405S/H6 will be described in the following paragraphs.

RK-2405S/H6 is mainly used in the field of power supply, and is often applied in part of switching power supply. RK-2405S/H6 is a non-isolated DC-DC module with an input voltage range of 4.77-8.4V and an output voltage of 5V. With a high efficiency of 96%, it is widely used in wide voltage power supply projects as a power conversion and voltage stabilization device.

The working principle of the RK-2405S/H6 is based on the principle of Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) technology, which is a technology commonly used in the field of power electronics Device. This technology converts the input DC voltage into a pulse-width modulated signal with a specific period in the range of 0-100% duty cycle. The switching capacitor type voltage transfer circuit is adopted. Through the input voltage, the output voltage of the switch capacitor filter circuit can be controlled.

The RK-2405S/H6 is mainly composed of a chip, inductance, capacitor and Schottky diode, etc. The integrated chip mainly includes pulse width modulation control chip, switching power tube and voltage detection chip. The chip will work according to the input voltage signal, then drive the work of the switching power tube and form a resonant charging and discharging circuit.

In the input, the inductor and diode form a resonant charging circuit, and the output end connects a capacitor to form a resonant discharge circuit. The period of each cycle of the charge and discharge is determined by the small current flowing through the inductance. When a certain amount of energy is stored in the inductor in the charging process, its current value will reach the peak value, and the energy will be transferred to the capacitor in the discharging process. This energy transfers from the inductor to the capacitor, creates a voltage change, and finally realizes the output voltage regulation.

The chip controls the pulse width modulated signal duty cycle to control the inductance current and output voltage. The dynamic characteristics of the RK-2405S/H6 are relatively good and the output voltage stabilization accuracy is controlled within 2%. The temperature protection circuit and surge current protection circuit are designed in the chip, when the chip temperature is too high, or the external overcurrent occurs, the chip can automatically reduce the output power or disconnect the output, to prevent the modules and the circuit from burning.
