The RN-111B-R is a compact, low-power, high-performance, RF transceiver module. It is designed for use as a remote control device in wireless communications, industrial automation, and medical applications. Its receiver and transmitter sections are both based on Silabs Si4010 transceiver ICs with full band 250 MHz - 2500 MHz operation. The receiver section is designed with the first-stage amplification and filtering being done in two paralleled receivers. This is done to ensure maximum rejection of adjacent channel interference and resulting in improved sensitivity. The transmitter section is designed with an automatic power control loop to ensure optimal signal level at all times.
The RN-111B-R module offers high level of selectivity, linearity and sensitivity with its 96 dB adjacent channel rejection. It also features low power consumption, low total harmonic distortion (THD) and excellent noise reduction capabilities. This makes the module suitable for many demanding applications such as industrial remote control, wireless access points, medical applications, and vehicle monitoring/tracking systems.
The module is interfaced with a microcontroller via SPI or I2C interfaces. The received data can either be sent to a microcontroller or to upper layer of the software. The module can also be used for BLE, WIFI, ZigBee, HF and other protocol implementations in the applications.It supports various modulation modes such as GMSK, QPSK, OFDM, DTMF and FSK, with data rates up to 50Kb/s.
The RN-111B-R module also has an adjustable frequency-hopping function, which is used to reduce the effects of interference and optimize system performance. The module can be configured with one of the three available power settings to prevent interference in densely populated environments. The power level adjustments allow selecting the receiver\'s sensitivity to match the application\'s requirements, as well as the output power for the transmitter section.
The module comes in a compact, surface mountable form factor, with a variety of optional accessories that make it easy to install and use. It is suitable for a range of industrial, commercial, and medical applications, including broad-spectrum wireless solutions such as 2-way radio systems, vehicle tracking systems, remote telemetry, and remote control.
