Through hole resistors is a type of resistors which uses a lead-wire technology to connect the resistor with the printed circuit board. This technology is becoming popular over the surface mount resistors because of the various advantages it offers.
The ROX075120KFKEL is a through hole resistor with wide applications in various electronic components and products. This resistor contains a semi-precious metal of high resistivity such as platinum, palladium, manganese and/or iron. It uses a lead-wire installation method to connect the resistor with the PCB. The resistor also has two contacts which are connected through two leads on the PCB. This makes it easier for the user to install the resistor.
The working mechanism of this resistor is very simple. When electricity is supplied to the resistor, the resistive material or the semi-precious metal molecules, absorbs the current to produce a heat. This heat makes the resistive material\'s resistance to the current rise, thus, creating a voltage drop. The voltage drop establishes a safe operating voltage limit for the resistor, thus, ensuring that the device does not receive a higher voltage than its rated voltage.
