DC-DC converters are used as power regulating devices to convert one DC voltage from one source to another. A DC to DC converter can also be used to step-up or step-down voltages, to isolate, filter, or regulate voltages, or to create a small regulated output voltage from an unregulated input voltage. RP-2412S is a high efficient, high performance, DC to DC converter with a wide input range of 9V ~ 60V and output range of 0.6V ~ 58V, typically used in automotive, industrial, computer and communication applications.
The RP-2412S wide input range makes it applicable to different applications of communication, automotive, computer and industrial control, specifically in voltage conversion, isolation, and power conditioning. The input, from 9V to 60V, is regulated to the output voltage of 0.6-58V with a delicate step-down configuration. The RP-2412S is also suitable for most low power applications that requires up to 300W of continuous power.
The working principle of the RP-2412S is based on the switching converter, which works in a buck-boost configuration. The input voltage is regulated to the output voltage by pushing the power transistor to open and close. In open status, the voltage is transferred from the input to the output. In close status, at the same time, the voltage is stored on the inductor, capacitor, and the diode for the next open step. Thus, the RP-2412S can closely match the input voltage to the output voltage.
The RP-2412S utilizes a synchronous regulator, using a feedback loop control system to monitor input and output voltage. The control loop compares the output voltage with a reference voltage and dynamically adjusts the output by increasing or decreasing the duty cycle.
