RSM-136-02-F-D-LC rectangular connectors belong to the category of headers, receptacles, and female sockets. This type of connector has been developed to meet the needs of data communication markets, such as in the LAN/WAN/PC/Data Transfer/Server applications. The connectors provide an efficient connection for a variety of types of Cable Assemblies and Backplane Systems.

The RSM type connectors are constructed from high-performance thermoplastic material, and these are designed to accept 2- to 16-pin’s of either single row or double row pins that are pre-assembled into the housing. Their contacts are gold plated with insulation properties of UL94 V-1 rated materials and are designed as low insertion and mating force applications. The connecting mechanisms are located on either side of the housing and are connection enabled when the lances are urged inward.

The RSM-136-02-F-D-LC rectangular connector is a self-locking polarized insert that works through friction to secure the connecting pins when the housing is engaged. The connector contains two fixtures: a two-piece, fast-mounting housing that attaches securely to the mating surface, and an insert holder that locks into the housing and secures the two mating connectors. The locking mechanism consists of a rotating lever to depress the lances, and the insert holder is provided with a combination of barbs and lugs for positive locking. The connector has a 10 Gage current rating, an operating temperature from -40 to +105°C, a dielectric strength of 1,500 volts for working voltage, and an insulation resistance of 200 megaohms minimum at 500 V AC.

The rectangular connector features a cleaning feature, which is intended to eliminate oxidation and corrosion on the contacts. The cleaning mode is activated when the connector is mated, and it causes the contacts to be wiped of oxidation and debris by a special brush material that is contained on the inner surface of the housing. This feature is designed to ensure that the electrical connection is maintained over time, and that no oxidation or corrosion will occur. The cleaning feature also enables the use of smaller connectors, which can be used in more confined spaces.

The RSM-136-02-F-D-LC rectangular connector is designed for low-noise operation, and it reduces the risk of signal degradation and data loss due to electrical noise. The connectors feature flexible telephone cord-style wires, which are designed to reduce electrical noise and minimize signal interference. The wires are constructed from coated copper, which helps to shield the electrical signals from external static and electromagnetic interference.

The RSM-136-02-F-D-LC connector is designed for quick and easy installation and removal. All of the contacts are attached to the connector externally, and can be installed or removed simply by applying pressure to the lances. The connector features a housing that is designed to function in environments that are exposed to dust, water, radiation, and extreme temperatures. The RSM-136-02-F-D-LC connector is perfect for applications that require fast and reliable connection that can withstand extreme conditions.
